For advanced reproduction values and speed, Modagrafics now has in operation two new Durst Rho 312R UV inkjet digital roll printers.  The new technology provides us with the kind of digital production firepower and innovation that can’t be found anywhere else in the United States. 

In the process of developing a patented production process for our front end, different printer options were looked at before ultimately deciding on the Durst system as the one to bring us the best technology for our process. Things went so well with the first 312R printer installed last summer – easily exceeding our initial projections – that a second unit was installed soon thereafter. 

At three meters (10.5 feet) long, the Durst printers provide us with high performance, 12-picoliter print head technology with unique Variodrop and grayscale innovation that is hard to match. The same goes for the vivid ink colors. And the high quality output looks brilliant on a variety of films. At speeds as high as 2,500 square-feet per hour,  the Durst Rho 312 is the most productive press on the market. Additionally, the Durst is so stable that we can print in the dark, which adds to our efficiency gains. One look at the finished work is all it takes to see a dramatic difference from graphics printed elsewhere on other systems.
