In the last issue we introduced ColorThink Management software from CHROMIX, a powerful tool designed to help improve color matching. Part 2 of our series delves into more of its benefits.

ColorThink allows for plotting the target color against the color range that Modagrafics’ presses are capable of achieving. The software uses very specific information to be entered in order to determine the best approach, therefore saving time while providing an educated path to hit client specific colors.

Prepress Manager Paul Studzinski says since it was introduced at the start of Q4, ColorThink has answered the questions if color is achievable within the parameters of press conditions and will there be a color shift for specific colors.

“Brian Elfring (Production Art and Digital Print Manager) and I began using this software to gain a greater understanding as to which direction we needed to go to improve our color management system. We make adjustments to the color breaks until the colors are within the parameters presented from our clients. This adjustment and output process occurs as little as one time and as many as six times with the more difficult color tolerances.”
